Sleep in a Bottle

Today as we were talking about the Dume Chronicles, our series about several boys sucked into another world and suddenly forced to confront lots of monsters and bad guys but finding great friendships in obvious and strange places, I said something about “sleep in a bottle.” Dad misunderstood what I meant, but as we discussed what sleep in a bottle might be and do, lightbulbs above our heads lit up, and we thought, “That sounds like something cool. We need to figure out how it could be in Dume.”

The possibilities are endless – and we are already working on it!

Swordfights and Subwoofers

The Dume series (not a series… yet) is about adventurers in a new world, one plagued by all manners of creatures. This our blog on the creation of our little world. This world is strange, tormented by horrifying creatures and loud techno music. We can fight them with swords and magic, and as we do so we guzzle brand-name coffee. It’s a strange mix of genres, which we adamantly refuse to be constrained by. It follows Daniel, the mature one, Red, the odd vegetarian, Pierre, giant number one, Raul, giant number two, Godot, the rhyme fiend, and Magoo, the veteran. Soon, however, there will be more. Many more. Our world is filled with references if you look for them. It’s odd, but it’s our creation. This is the Dume Chronicles.
